Dr Sabeena is interested in crystal structure and evolution of morphology during phase transformations for obtaining superior biomedical implant material. She mainly focused on Rietveld refinement of synchrotron /conventional x-ray diffraction patterns in titanium-based alloys and alkaline earth metal-based silicate phosphors doped with Europium to obtain accurate crystal structure details lattice parameter, relative volume fraction, bond length and bonding nature. The influence of morphology on luminescence properties and mechanical properties also studied using optical microscopy, FESEM and TEM analysis.
