Nanophotonic & Optoelectronic Devices Laboratory

Nanophotonic and Optoelectronic Devices Laboratory (NPOED) was established in 1995. It is now one of the leading laboratories in India for intensive research in material science and semiconductor devices. Over the past two decades, the laboratory has made significant contributions in the areas of Transparent Electronics, Thin Film Electroluminescent Devices, Thin-Film Transistors, SERS, Solar Cells, Nanophosphors, Quantum Dots, Ferroelectric Random Access Memories, Spintronics, 2D Materials, Resistive Switching Devices, Artificial Synaptic Devices, Non-Linear Optical Studies, Laser-Induced and RF plasma studies. The lab is well equipped with thin-film fabrication units like Radio Frequency and DC Sputtering, Thermal Evaporation, Pulsed Laser Deposition, Chemical Vapour Deposition, Spin Coating, wet benches and Spray Coating systems. High- Resolution X-Ray Diffractometer, HR-Raman Spectrometer, Atomic Force Microscope, UV-vis Spectrometer and External Quantum Efficiency (EQE) measurement system, Semiconductor Parameter Analyser are some of the characterisation techniques well established at NPOED laboratory.
