Dr. Jayalekshmi is a Reader in the Department of Physics of the Cochin University of Science & Technology. She was awarded PhD from Cochin University of Science & Technology in 1987. She joined the Department of Physics, Cochin University, as a faculty member in 1988. Her research areas include, Conducting Polymers, Polymer Composites and Polymer Nano Composites in bulk and thin film forms for Optoelectronic Applications, Development of Electrode and Electrolyte Materials for Rechargeable Thin Film Lithium Ion Batteries and Growth and Characterization of highly transparent Organic Crystals for Non Linear Optical Applications. She has taken post doctoral research positions in National Research Council Canada, University of St.Andrews, Scotland and University of East Anglia England. She has research collaborations with Universities in Scotland and England and many national Institutes in India such as VSSC, Trivandrum, TIFR, Mumbai, Institute of Physics, Bhuvaneswar etc. She has over twenty five research publications .She has co-ordinated a National Seminar in 2000. She has undertaken sponsored research projects from agencies like DST,UGC,KSCSTE etc.One student has completed Ph.D under her guidance and nine students are currently working under her guidance for Ph.D |
